Hotel Monterey:  Hotel art fairs are a clever way to bring art to the people because the work is literally in their faces. And the idea is catching
on. While Art Osaka, held at Dojima Hotel, celebrated its eighth running last year, Art Fair Kyoto in only its second year is already the largest hotel art fair in Japan, with some 60 galleries occupying two floors of the Hotel Monterey.
Each gallery has one room to decorate as they wish, and all the art is for sale. In partnership with DOORS Art Fair in Seoul, Korea, Art Fair
Kyoto will feature both Japanese and international galleries and hopes to generate 50 million yen in sales. Definitely not to be missed if
you’re into art or seeing hotel rooms a bit ‘shaken up’.
